I’m working on my design for my front yard landscape lighting. I’m gonna use VOLT LED lighting. Should I use 10, 12, or 14 ga wire? What are the Pros and Cons?

    Hey Vic,

Great question. Using the correct gauge of cable for a project is just as important as using the correct type of cable (direct burial rated). 12-gauge is the most commonly used for the majority of residential projects and is generally rated for uses up to 150'. Which gauge is best for your project would be dependent on the size of the layout; this is determined by measuring how far away the furthest fixture in your layout is from the transformer box. With this measurement, we could certainly guide you towards the proper gauge you should be using.
