Hello, I have a run that’s about 340 feet and it will be about 60 W total on 12-2 wire . i’m going to run it on a 15 V feed from the transformer. Is it OK to do? I know I will have a voltage loss but well, it still be within spec so the LEDs are not dim
Bruce, the formula for calculating voltage drop is on page 9 of the installation manual for the 600W multi-tap transformer. 340 feet of 12/2 wire will produce a 5.4V loss and will probably not work for your application. The lights will likely dim or flicker, if they work at all. 10/2, or even better, 8/2 wire, would be needed to keep the voltage at the last bulb above 10 volts. Bob
