I did a lighting job last week where I lit a brick garage facade and door, came out really well with (2) 7w 38 degree spotlights at the corners (AMP), (3) 2w core drilled 1" "mini well" lights for the garage door and (2) 3w spots criss crossing each other to highlight the upper eves. The issue now is that the homeowner is having issues opening the door. I asked another lighting guy about it and he said Chamberlain door openers are the main ones that he has seen with this problem as they have roughly the same frequency as the LED lights. He said to change the wattage and bulb company, so I lowered the 2 corner spots to 5w each. He also said to extend the antenna from the garage door opener by adding wire to it and extending it as close to the door as I could, I did that as well. They are still having issues saying they have to come right up on the door to activate it from their car. Could anyone offer any advice so that they could open the garage door from the end of the driveway as they were able to do before the lighting went in. Im thinking of scaling down one of the mini wells but would rather keep the nice pattern on the door. Would the transformer create this problem as well? Im planning to switch to Brilliance bulbs to see if that works. Thanks for your time.

This is out my wheelhouse but have you tried disconnecting different fixtures (in particular the ones closest to the garage door opener) to narrow down which one(s) might be causing the problem? In addition to contacting the opener manufacturer, I would contact VOLT customer service to ask them if they’re aware of any issues wrt the proximity of the lighting fixtures or the transformer. I would also ask them if there are any warranty related issues if you use bulbs other than those sold by VOLT.
