I am thinking of using some of the integrated hub bases. My question; once you connect the wires, won't screwing the hub together twist the wires and screw them all up? It looks as though there is enough threading on the two parts, I don't know how many complete turns that translates to. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks Mark
Good question. My best guess is that the little black disc with wire ports in the base of each mount is either a hard plastic piece that rotates freely or a soft rubber piece that can be squeezed into the base after the top has been screwed on. Either of those approaches would prevent the wire(s) from kinking. Best to contact someone in customer service to confirm that, though.
This is actually something we recently tested in-house a few days ago - applying different mounts as well. The most important thing here is following the recommend steps - essentially installing the mount first, then running main wires to/through mount, then making wire connections under the fixture, and then finally thread the fixture on the mount. Following these steps, there is only about 3 or so threads for the fixture to catch and properly make contact so, not enough turns to be made to extremely tangle or yank the wires. If trying to attach the mount to the wired fixture before even installing in ground, the wires will undoubtedly get tangled and likely yanked out while trying to thread the mount on to the fixture (much more threading involved).
