I have 11 All-star spotlights on 1 run, worked flawlessly for a year. Lightning hit close to our house a few days ago, knocked the system out. Reset it the next day, immediately shorts when turned on. For the brief second it comes on before shorting all lights come on besides last 2. Replace 2nd to last LED, nothing. Replace last LED as well, fixed…but only for about 5 minutes. Shorting again and won’t stay on. Any ideas? How was I good for a few minutes and then issue returned? Is the LED the issue? Spotlight? Connection? Any recommendations on how to troubleshoot? Anyone know why the All-star isn’t available anymore? I only see the mini. Thanks in advance.
Matt: Same thing happened to me. I lost 3 bulbs, one on each of three separate runs. All you can do is check each bulb one at a time. You can't tell by looking at the bulb if it is bad or not. I would suggest pulling them all out and replacing them one at a time to see which one (or ones) will trip the transformer. I don't have an explanation for the 5 min delay. Good luck. Bob
Have you tested the GFCI yet? One theory I have is that the circuit breaker on the transformer is tripping because the storm zapped the GFCI. I don’t know why/if the All-star is history but if so, my guess would be that it’s because it wasn’t markedly different from the Top Dog. At least from a laymen’s perspective. The All-star has a flat lens cover and adjusting the angle requires an Allen wrench.
