    Is this normal? https://imgur.com/gallery/mEPrRSZ

The green light above the power switch stays on regardless of switch position. It turns off if I unplug the box.

This happens without any 12V wires attached to it.
Brand new out of the box. It’s a Costco unit.

Is it possible that the receptacle is plugged into was wired incorrectly, eg no ground wire, white or black reversed or something? Other devices on this circuit work fine.

The switch has a positive click feel when flicked to the On position but a mushy feel when switched to the Off position. Which may be normal, I don’t know.

i definitely do not want to have to ship this large heavy transformer back to Costco or Volt as it would cost hundreds (I’m in Canada but I bought it from Costco USA). If it’s just a faulty switch I’m more than happy to just replace it if I’m sent a new one.

Longtime VOLT customer here. It’s not super intuitive. The green light is always on (to indicate the transformer is receiving power from a functioning outlet). The red toggle turns the transformer ON or OFF (as indicated by the blue pilot light on the timer). The ON and OFF settings on the timer override the photocell (so you can switch your lights off or on regardless of the time of day or the amount of light being detected by the photocell). I advise you to contact VOLT customer service anyway to notify them of your initial concerns about the main switch on the transformer (as I do not own that transformer model myself). HTH
