    Hi,

Do the Salty Dog Single Source LEDs work with 12 VDC, or is AC required? I will be using the following two VOLT products.

    VWL-710-BBZ

VWL-712-4-BBZ-Bundle (VOLT 3” 24 Degree Single Source Optics)

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hey Steve,

    Great question.

All of our transformers output 12VAC, so this is what our fixtures are designed to operate with.

They can in theory work when receiving DC input, but we haven't tested the effects of this regarding longevity and it would void any warranties - so we wouldn't recommend do this.

Hi Evan, thank you very much for the reply. My issue is the lights will be installed in a 220VAC/50Hz service location. I will check local supplies for 220 to 12 Transformers. Do you provide transformers that will work with 220/50?

Our transformers are designed for 120V.

They can be hard-wired if needed, but doing so will void the warranty once the 3-prong plug is cut off - not something we typically recommend.
