Hello All, I'm looking to update and add to the existing landscape lighting. Would you recommend the same placement as the existing lighting marked with (red) X's. I also would like to light 2 entry birch trees that about 20-25ft tall with the G2 Fat boy. What is your opinion on bulb; 5w adjustable or the 7w that would have a longer throw to the top of the trees. Thanks in advance!
Hey Reginal, If those marked spots are where path lights were previously installed, those would still be mostly ideal locations. If this is for uplighting the home/architecture, I'd recommend placing the uplights no further than a foot away from the exterior wall (behind the shrubs in this case). Regarding the birch trees, given the sizes shown, I'd probably recommend you consider using at least (2) fixtures for each tree. This would help ensure the trunk and canopy were well illuminated as well as balanced from any viewing angle (this could especially be ideal for when the canopy is full). Adding (2) fixtures also helps add a nice 3D viewing effect. If using (2), I'd likely use no brighter than 5W LED bulbs.
