Will VOLT's 12V LED low power fixtures operate with AC or DC. Does the lumen output change? Does the expected diode life change? and is flickering perceived with AC?

Lastly, for AC and DC, will the LED fixtures dim if one intentionally reduces the voltage supplied?

I'm have short runs, thick wires and low power requirements, so voltage drops are not a concern.

    Thank you

According to volt there bulbs are designed for AC input only. I currently have one hooked up to DC power (8AA battery pack) I use as a demo light. I've been using it for several years. The demo light runs for about 4 hours on 8 fresh batteries and I've been though approx. two 60ct cases of batteries so that's about 60hrs of ON time and the bulb still works like new with no noticeable differences but keep in mind 60 hrs of run time in an actual install is only one week which is nothing.
