I am installing a 25 foot white fiberglass flagpole in a landscaping bed this weekend. The pole will be about 30 feet (at most) from my outdoor outlet. On the opposite side of the landscaping bed where the flagpole will be, I have some shrubs and a paper birch tree will solar powered upward lighting on them. So, I want to make sure the flagpole / flag is BRIGHTLY lit as to be the highlight of this area. I am thinking 2-3 lights directed at the top of the flagpole (mounted on spikes as the area is surrounded by mulch), direct bury wire, and a transformer is what I need to get the job done. This needs to be a low voltage setup. Will your products be able to do this, and if so, what specific items would you recommend?
Hey there Mike, I'd be happy to offer some insight! We certainly have a number of fixtures that can accomplish this type of project. For a low-voltage solution, I would recommend either a spotlight (bullet-light) or a floodlight (either could really be used and look beautiful). The most popular option for larger flag poles is more often than not, floodlight(s). For a lamp-ready flood light (uses bulb), you could consider the Big Par 36 with a 9W LED PAR36 bulb. An integrated floodlight option would be the 7W LED. Both have similar lumen outputs so, it would ultimately come down your preference of being able to replace the bulb or not. Whether or not you wanted to use one or two of the floodlights would also be dependent on the intensity of the light you were looking for. Because the other lights you mentioned are solar, I think the output from just 1 light would be more than noticeable in close comparison in the area.
