I'm a homeowner looking to install a small color changing system (6 spotlights). I've already engaged a contractor who uses CAST Lighting. The output on their spotlights are too low and super expensive! He says I can purchase any system and he will install. I've settled on VOLT's RGBCW line. Are there big advantages of going with an AMP system over VOLT? I hate to abandon someone I've already engaged, but if an AMP professional is going to give me a better overall system, I might consider. If this is proprietary information and you can't share, that's fine, I just thought it was worth asking. Thanks.
Fellow lighting enthusiast here (full disclosure: I do not work for VOLT). If you’re talking to a contractor, I assume you have no interest in doing this yourself? Regardless, unless you have some sophisticated smart functionality in mind, I can’t think of much you can do with AMP products than you couldn’t accomplish with VOLT. They’re essentially the same products. An authorized AMP contractor would purchase the system for you, do the install and work with you on an ongoing basis (much like your roofer or landscaper would). In contrast, I bought my system through VOLT, installed myself, and when I have questions or need troubleshooting guidance, I contact VOLT customer service. HTH.
