hello, our recent project is a large flower bed. No mulch has been added yet and the silver bucket will be replaced with a wine barrel converted into a fountain. Where should I light up? I was thinking 3 well lights evenly spaced in front of the rear grass, 1 spot shining in the fountain and 2-3 path lights throughout the area. Thoughts? My well lights I have are quite bright would this overpower the spot and take attention away from the fountain?
Hello, Beautiful bed, that fountain is going to be a great focal point once everything comes together! Well lights: Angle them into the bed toward the plants and house wall, not straight up. If they feel too bright, try stepping them down on a lower voltage tap to soften the output. Fountain spot vs. well lights: Yes, bright well lights can steal the show. Keep the fountain spot at full output and run the well lights slightly lower. The contrast will naturally draw the eye to the water. Path lights: Space them 6–8 feet apart along the curved bed edge. Once the mulch is in, they'll really anchor the design. Post some after-photos when the fountain is in — we'd love to see it!
