My dusk to dawn setting just stopped working. The on and off feature works but none of the other settings work. How can I troubleshoot this issue and fix it?

Which timer/transformer do you have and what have you tried to do to resolve the issue so far?

I have the 100Watt transformer and I sent it back once before. I got a call from Volt and they said there was nothing wrong with the transformer and asked me to connect it back up and call them before I turned it on. I called and someone walked me through the troubleshooting process and the dusk to dawn setting worked. All worked fine until last night. The lights didn’t turn on in the dusk to dawn setting but would come on in the “on” mode. I’m trying it tonight in the 8 hour mode to see if that works. I’m at a loss for why the dusk to dawn setting worked fine for about two weeks and now it doesn’t.

UPDATE: The 8 hour setting is working. I’m going to try another setting tomorrow night.

You’ve already consulted the pros. I suspect VOLT would’ve tested for short circuits or damage to the photo cell. I don’t know what else you’ve done on your end but I would try to test the transformer in different GFCI to see if you can eliminate/duplicate the issue. I would also try testing the photocell (by covering it with the photocell cap or black tape) to see if it turns on and off reliably. Also, what kind load/capacity are you using? Do you have long wire runs, for instance? I’m trying to get a sense of how hard the transformer is working. That’d be another way to test it. See how it performs with fewer lights attached, etc. Good luck.
