Hi, I'm looking through the installation instructions for the VOLT LED Hardscape Lights (6" Rotating/Pivoting Hardscape Light). #4 says: "DO NOT INSTALL in walls where the capstones overhang the wall less than 3/4” [19mm] or under stairs where the tread overhangs the riser less than 3/4” (19mm)." I have a simple 4' tall brick wall. See photo. I'm currently using cheap solar lights that claim 80lm (as seen in the photo). I would like to use your lights. I don't have a problem drilling a hole through the brick for wiring. What lights would you suggest I use instead? Thanks, Scott
Hi, Scott. Fellow lighting enthusiast here. First, in case you were interested, I think the hardscape lights need a certain amount of clearance in order to effectively pivot. And if the edge were jutting out beyond the lip of a step, it'd probably be easy to knock it off or trip over it. Anyway, based on what I can see in your photos, you have at least a few different options. First option is step lights. These are ideal if you want super low profile and you don't need a lot of lumens. There's two sizes of these and so one or the other should suit your needs. Next option is a deck light like the one pictured here. And finally (assuming you have room in the area above your wall) is a path light with a narrow beam spread and a short stem. Note that with the 2nd and 3rd options, you can take advantage of the RGB and RGBCW bulbs. These bulbs will give you the ability to dim your lights and choose any color/color temperature you want.
