    Hello!

Looking for help on how to mount uplights on my columns. I could not find any videos/resources online.

The way I have it (in the picture) is obviously not correct. I can hide the wire better, but what do I do with the connectors? How do I hide these?

There has to be a best practice for installing these... Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I’m not sure VOLT still sells fixture models with the hubs built into the base but I suspect not. Probably best to start over with 25 ft lead wires. That will give you flexibility to more creatively hide connections. Alternatively, you could lengthen the wires by using the shrink wrap connector type shown, which is the lowest profile and most robust method of creating a splice that I know of. Then, rather than daisy chaining the lights, you could connect each fixture individually to a hub (see link below). Without seeing more of your porch and foundation, I’m unable to offer more meaningful suggestions for hiding your wiring. HTH https://www.voltlighting.com/pro-junction-wire-hub

Thanks for the response. If helpful, here is a picture of the whole porch. I did think about drilling holes, running the wire through, and connecting under the house.

Glad to help. And thank you for posting a second pic, as that is a game changer. You actually have the ideal scenario for installing your fixtures on risers the way you see I have in the first couple of photos. If you stake your fixtures, and connect them individually to your transformer or a hub (which you can neatly tuck behind your hedge), you've solved your problem. Another benefit of having them on risers is that you can bring them back from the porch several inches and then you've given yourself a great range to angle your fixtures towards your columns. You might have to trim your hedge back a bit to install these on risers but to protect your porch from excessive moisture, it might be a good idea to do that anyway. If you decide to keep your fixtures mounted to the porch, I recommend that you splice enough wire on each fixture's lead wire to reach your transformer or a hub. There may be safety protocols you have to follow if you want to hide the wiring in the manner you proposed. HTH
