Are there any Volt in-ground driveway (solar preferred) lights that can withstand a riding lawnmower and the occasional weedeater? I admit it, we’ve bought cheap driveway lights in the past. But I’m at the point where I’m willing to fork out more money for heavy-duty light fixtures to stop replacing them. Any suggestions are appreciated!
A photo of your driveway with surrounding landscape features would help us give more meaningful recommendations. All of these fixtures are solid brass. In my experience, as long as the wires are buried, the occasional hit by nylon string trimmers has caused no or negligible damage to the fixture itself. The only fixture specifically designed to withstand the kind of impacts you describe is the in ground well light linked here. But like most of the well lights, the light is cast directly upward. They are great indicator lights but they are less than ideal for illuminating the surface of the driveway. Many fixture types can be successfully used in situations for which they aren’t specifically intended, though. HTH
