I am a home DIYer so please excuse any simple questions.
I had a deck built on my house last year and would like to put a wired lighting system on it. Just some simple stair lighting, maybe some post cap lighting...im still planning it all out.

I would however like for it work a specific way. I would like to either set a schedule for the lights to come on at dusk and then shut off at midnight (give or take). I would also like to have a motion sensor setup that will turn the lights on if I have to take the dogs out to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

As for the time schedule...I dont care if its a photosensor or a scheduled dimmer...I just dont want it to run all night and would like to have the lights turn on automatically when they see im tripping over the dogs down the stairs.

Does anyone know of any type of controller like this?

Hi. The Ring transformer and bridge that now Volt sells will probably do what you want to do. A Ring motion sensor will probably be needed for the dog's nightly outings if the dog wanders away from the sensor. The Volt motion sensor only turns on lights for 15 seconds. Call customer service to confirm that the Ring system will work for you. Bob

I was looking for a similar schedule. I was thinking I could connect a smart light switch to an outlet, and have that control the on/off schedule.
