I would like some lights to shine on the house. I was thinking of the infinity series. Im not sure which size or beam angle. I would also like advise on placement. Ive never done landscape lighting before so I would really like some help. Here is a pic of the front of my house. Thanks for any help!!!!!!
Hi Friend, There are many ways you can light your house and property. Here are some suggestions based on the photo. Lighting the house facade is fairly straightforward. On the center-left, far-left, and far-right facades position a Brass Infinity 40 G3 Integrated LED spotlight on either side of each window set - that's (6) spotlights for those three facades. Using the supplied stakes, set the fixtures in the ground about 1 ft. from the wall. Experiment with the positioning to get a nice even cone of light that spreads from the ground to the gutter. Use the supplied 60º optics for a nice wide flood. I can't tell if you have a place to mount one of these spotlights on either side of the front door, but if you do, mount these to project a narrower cone of light that reaches all the way to the underside of the tall peak of the house. To get a narrower beam, order the 35º optics to replace the 60º optics. Since the lower eaves may intrude on the beams, you might need to angle these spotlights to illuminate the opposite underside of the peak. You have such beautiful garden beds. I suggest you select your favorite path light style (perhaps the Max Spread that covers a wider area than the others) - and do two things: Create a line of illumination along each side of the driveway by positioning a Max Spread every 10 ft. from the house to the road. Set each light about a foot from the edge; Secondly, in the left-hand garden bed, position three or four more max spreads in an evenly-spaced criss-cross pattern to provide selective pools of light in the garden. The right-hand garden with the shrubs is more challenging because the shrubs are higher and you need to either add fixture extensions - or preferably use one or two down lights mounted in the tree on the right to illuminate the region. If this all seems overly ambitious, then work your project in stages. Start with your house or the garden, and complete the project later. Have fun!
