I could have done a lot better job on my original post. I am looking for a recommendation on the bulb lumens to uplight these crepe myrtle trees in my front yard. They were planted to provide shade from the central Texas sun and heat in the summer. Without street lights the area is pretty dark and it also shades all other night lights. I know the equipment I want to buy but my holdup has been in determining the lumens to use in uplighting the trees. You can see the trees are about 15 - 18 feet tall currently. Your help is appreciated.
Hi Frank, If you're using MR16 spotlights such as the All-Stars, I suggest 6W (500 lm) 60º lamps. More lumens than that and it may be too bright.
