Hello! I purchased a Costco kit (10 spot + 7 path + 150 watt transformer) and hoping for some community direction on light placement and wiring layout. I have a longer driveway at about 175' from furthest light to transformer which I'm thinking to place at end of concrete apron (where driveway transitions to asphalt). I currently have a PVC pipe buried under driveway to get to other side as well. I've also roughly diagramed layout and initial thoughts on light placement. Any thoughts on set up? Is the included wire sufficient to run length of driveway, or is larger needed for voltage drop? Currently thinking to have a homerun to transformer for left side of driveway and (hopefully) only one other for other side - is that too much? Currently thinking only need lighting on landscaping. House has larger overhang and soffit lights throughout, so its pretty well lit. Thank you for any/all input!
Fellow landscape lighting enthusiast here. Based on the number of fixtures you have, I would evenly space your path lights and stagger them along the length of your driveway. If the seven path light fixtures don't illuminate the driveway sufficiently, you can always add additional path fixtures to fill in darker areas. Alternatively, you can indirectly illuminate stretches of your driveway by lighting some of the areas bordered by boulders. For runs of up to about a hundred feet, the included wire (which I believe in your kit is 14 gauge) should be just fine. To reduce the likelihood of voltage drop on your 175 ft run, you'll probably want to use your 15V tap and go up 12 gauge wire. HTH
