I have a row of 8 Volt lights, mixed types. They've been working for 10yrs now. 1 of them (#4 in the row) has stopped working. The rest of them still work. I've checked the voltage, 12.9vac if I remember. I removed the light and replaced it with a know working one, that one doesn't light up in that spot. I break the splice for the lights down the line, they go out. Im baffled. What am I missing, or not looking for? TIA.

It sounds like either the fixture or lamp (bulb) might have croaked but based on the terminology you’re using to describe your troubleshooting, I’m not sure. When you say your removed and replaced the “light” do you mean you replaced the bulb in the fixture or you replaced the whole fixture? If these are wired in a series and lights before and after the faulty fixture are working, it’s possible there is some damage (corrosion potentially) to the bulb socket. Have you examined the socket and other parts of the fixture carefully?
