Just got some Solar Modernelle fixtures. Trying to get the LED unit out to install the batteries. Removed the four screws that hold the LED unit in place and the LED unit separates from the brass base about 1/8", but can't seem to get it out all the way. Don't want to force it and break the LED unit, and don't want to pry it and bend the brass. Any pointers on this?

Fellow DIYer here. Have you tried assembling one of the others? If you are able to successfully separate the two parts in a second fixture, you’ll then know exactly how the pieces are supposed to separate.. If you’re saying you’ve encountering the issue with multiple fixtures, then it’s probably a good idea to contact VOLT customer service for further guidance. HTH

Following the instructions here in Step 1. Solar components only come out about 1/8" and trying to coax it out isn't working. Trying to remove it so I can move on to Step 2 without breaking it.

Hi there. Again, have you tried assembling one of the other Modernelle fixtures you purchased? If not, doing so may help you understand exactly where and why it’s difficult to disassemble the one you’re having a problem with. It also might help if you’d post a photo showing the bottom of the fixture. Maybe one or both parts are bent or warped in some way. Finally, if you’re concerned about damaging the fixture, contact VOLT customer service directly. They may have you simply return the one fixture and send you a replacement one. HTH
