Hello. I need a path light and I really like the "Top Dog Scotty Mini Innovator", but the 25" height is too big for my application (~15" would work). I'm wondering if there is a way to cut and re-thread the post. Alternatively, is there anything unique about the light on the "Top Dog Scotty Mini Innovator" vs the light on the "Top Dog Scotty Mini Brass Spotlight"? Cause I could probably construct a ~15" high equivalent to the "Innovator" using an elbow + an extension + a spotlight. Thanks for all help.
Someone here or at VOLT customer service will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is a threaded connection shown near the top of the "T" on the Twinnovator. You should be able to remove that stem and replace it with a telescoping stem that you can adjust to 15". I'm pretty sure cutting the stem would void your warranty. I'm assuming you don't already have the fixture. My advice would be to call CS and ask them how you can accomplish what you're attempting to do. Thanks for the reply! Yes, I haven't bought the fixtures yet because I was trying to solve this issue before placing my order. If you are right about that being a threaded joint, that would be perfect! It's the single head version (not the twinovator) that I'm considering, but it seems to have the same joint (see red arrow on attached photo). I'll wait to see if anyone can confirm that it's a threaded joint, but if I no one chimes in, I'll call CS next week.
Based on the design of the elbow on the Risers and Extensions page I linked to, my guess is that’s the same part on the fixtures. But definitely good idea to confirm it before ordering.
