I am wanting to install low voltage lighting near a new swimming pool install in Phoenix, AZ. What safety and codes issues should I be aware of? Thanks.

    Hey Brian,

With our low-voltage transformers, we recommend to "Install power unit at least 5 feet (1.5m) from pool or spa and at least 10 feet (3.05m) from a fountain." The installation guide included with our transformers will cover this and other helpful installation advice as well. Here is an example of the Install Guide for our Slim Lines: https://volt-product-docs.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/is-slimline-ver11.pdf

Our products adhere to ETL & UL safety guidelines and this same criteria regarding the distance is recommended by the NEC (National Electrical Code).

Unless there are local ordinances, maybe from your HOA (usually rare), most areas abide by the guidelines laid out by the NEC.
