Just got a large metal dragon sculpture for our garden. I have wired low voltage landscaping near by that I can tap into. What I'd like to do is wire up a couple red led's in the dragons eyes. I'm sure I could go to an electronics supply store and pick up some led's and holders but I assume that I would need something else. I have no idea what I'm doing so any guidance would be sincerely appreciated.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Cool project! Yes, you can go to an electronics store and buy the red LEDs, but they will need to be powered with DC current. Our low voltage transformers provide AC current. If you start with an AC current, you'll need to bring that into an LED driver that will convert the current into DC and condition it so the LEDs have a constant current supply. I suggest asking the electronics store if they have a driver for the LEDs as well as the LEDs themselves.

    Keep us updated!

    Thanks!
