My hurricane shutters without windows behind them. What spot light will best backlight?

We installed hurricane shutters on my new Florida house purely for aesthetics. There are no windows behind them. What spotlight will best create the illusion of interior light behind them? I can't decide between a traditional spotlight and a wall washer.

Solar powered Christmas lights? Mounted to a sheet of white peg board inserted behind the shutters. Seems to me, other options would not provide a diffuse enough lighting simulation. Bob

If I understand, you’re aiming for a look something like the effect shown here. If so, my first thought was hardscape lights. But I don’t know how you would restrict the light so that it wouldn’t be seen beyond the frame of the shutters.
