I have your 300 watt multi tap transformer, 15 of your 5" path lights with g4 2700 bulbs. I also have 9 hardware lights from my landscaper of unknown wattage.

Do I need to upgrade to the 600 watt transformer?

Hi there. Hard to know for sure without knowing combined wattage of your lamps but I’m doubtful you need to upgrade to 600W. Ideally you don’t want to exceed 80% (240w in this case) of your transformer capacity. 15 path lights with 4w lamps (the max available) would put you at only 60w. I’m guessing by “hardware lights” you mean you have 9 additional lights of undetermined wattage from a big box store? Regardless, if you don’t have remarkably long wire runs (like over 200 ft) and the remaining lights don’t put you over 240w, you should be fine with the 300w transformer.
